About TransformED

TransformED is a SourceMedia effort to spark conversations about transforming our traditional approach to education toward a model that better reflects 21st century realities. We hope to connect people in the Creative Corridor and throughout Iowa who want to explore these ideas into an independent network, and then assist them in their efforts to advance “Great Conversations” in their own communities.

The expert consultations that took place here during the aftermath of the flood convinced many of us that the Creative Corridor’s future depends on reinventing our institutions for success in a global economy. We believe innovation in education offers our community an excellent return on its investment, and we see general agreement on some common ideas emerging simultaneously across a broad spectrum of people and organizations.

The journalists we employ have a professional responsibility to inform the public on this topic, but as a deeply rooted local company with unique resources, we feel a special duty to support our neighbors who volunteer to advance this cause. This website is just one part of that effort.
